Pain au Levain

Pain au Levain (pronounced lay-VAUN) is a traditional country bread, leavened with our natural starter, that is perhaps our most utilitarian bread. Another way to put it, is that Levain is a Jack-of-all-trades, as good with aromatic cheese as it is peanut butter. There’s really nothing Levain can’t do. Next time you’re headed to a dinner party and don’t know what’s on the menu, play it safe and grab a loaf with your bottle of wine, and be the guest of honor.
